Pumpkin Predcitons

We know a lot about pumpkins, but we were not sure what would happen if we placed soil and pumpkin seeds inside our pumpkin.  So...we made some predictions!

Some of the ideas included:
-the pumpkin bursting
-pumpkin plants growing inside the existing pumpkin
-the pumpkin would rot
-the pumpkin would POP
and many other great predictions!

We worked as a team to clean out the insides of the pumpkin!

We made sure to save the seeds.

We put the seeds and the soil in the pumpkin and waited for the results!

After several days of observing our pumpkin...we were excited to see the seeds were growing.
Unfortunately, we grew a little mold too.  Our pumpkin was beginning to get a little soft.
It was a great time to discuss how things become old and start to decay or rot.
This was a fun learning experience!

We love pumpkins and we love science!
